Posters
Students are welcome to present a poster on any topic related to language acquisition and/or experimental methods. Please specify on the registration form whether you would like to present a poster. You will be required to write an abstract, make a poster, and present your work in-person during the poster session.
Your poster should be A0 size, landscape and portrait orientation are both fine. All abstracts and posters will be posted on the EMLAR website and made available to EMLAR attendees.
Please note that there is no online option for the poster presentations. Participants who indicate that they would like to present a poster on the registration form, will be contacted with regards to the submission dates of the abstract and the poster (for printing purposes).
Depending on the number of applications, there might be a selection procedure.
Abstract
Abstract guidelines:
- Abstracts must be submitted in a word or .pdf format.
- Abstracts must not exceed 500 words (ideally must not exceed 1 page). The title, references, and any tables, figures, and captions do not count towards this 500-word limit. However, in-text citations do.
- The title of the abstract should appear at the top of the page.
Some useful guidelines that are good to follow when writing any abstract:
- Clearly state your research question(s).
- Clearly state the significance of your research, and cite previous work appropriately.
- Include a brief discussion of your data collection, methods, and analysis.
- Discuss your results and any implications they may have for further research or societal impact.
- The presenting author ensures that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
